Bowness Park Family picnic and potluck - September 19th
Join us at Site 4 in Bowness park from 11:00am to 1:00pm for group festivities, games, food and good times! This is a wonderful outdoor event for families and our community to get together and enjoy a (hopefully) sunny day! Bring a fun food item, drink, snack or something for the potluck along with your wonderful selves! Please register in the office or by email to let us know how many will be attending.
Please note this event is at Bowness Park Site 4!!!!! We are usually at Site 5 and it is closed for renovations this year, so new location but same fun times!
Family Movie night - October 9th 6:30-8:30
Bring popcorn and your favorite stuffed animal, we’re hosting a movie! Students and family are invited to join us for a (TBA) movie for all ages. Snacks, drinks (in a sealed container), and pillows are welcome as we settle in for an evening on the big screen. Register in the office!
S.T.O.P (Special Tao of Peace) Week - October 26th - 29th
Our S.T.O.P Weeks are one of the most exciting times of the year!
Throughout the entire week, students are welcome to wear their costumes to class while continuing to train their martial arts skills and have fun.
During the first half of the week (Mon/Tues), we’ll keep the focus on martial arts training with a festive twist. Then in the second half (Wed/Thurs), classes transform into station-filled fun, featuring activities like acrobatics, capture the flag, lazerball, and shoulder roll soccer!
S.T.O.P Week is a time to celebrate the creative side of martial arts — shifting from self-defense training to exploring the artistic and playful side of what we do here at Tao of Peace. It’s one of our favorite weeks of the year!
Junior Community night - October 23, 2026
Tao of Peace students can join us from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM for our Junior Community Night!
The cost is $10.00, which includes pizza, games, activities, and tons of community fun.
Students are encouraged to wear their costumes!
A few quick rules to keep things safe and fun:
• No masks, hoods, or anything that blocks vision
• No costume accessories like weapons, wands, or canes
• No costumes with excessive glitter
The Ninja Gauntlet is an exciting upstairs-and-downstairs adventure filled with mazes, darkness, and ninjas. Students who make it through will win prizes (candy!) and have the chance to go again!
Intermediate and Teen Community night - November 20, 2026
Tao of Peace students are invited to join us on November 20th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM for an evening of pizza, fun, games, and community building!
This one won’t be Halloween-themed, but it’ll be packed with awesome activities including acrobatics, challenging puzzles, and team-based games that bring everyone together.
Just like our Junior Community Night, the cost is $10.00 for the evening.
Details about the specific games and puzzles will be announced in class as we get closer to the event date!
