This is a free offering for those who wish to have a fun, safe and non-intimidating opportunity to train in ground defense. The program is non-competitive and is appropriate for beginners to advanced students of various fitness levels. 

The overall objective is to enhance each student’s fitness level, self-defense skills and general well-being. Strategies and philosophy are also shared during this eclectic martial arts class.

Sensei Gary keeps the training light-hearted, smiles and laughter are a must.

Peaceful Warrior Tournament
Saturday June 22, 10am-3pm
Junior-Teen (7-15 yrs)

Join us in learning how to win and lose with grace as students practice sportsmanship, authentic leadership, team building, public speaking, and personal confidence, while building self-worth.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in 2 individual scored events as well as non-scored, fun events. Mid-way through the day will be a presentation by the Tao Demo Team.

Individual Events: Kata (skill demonstration) and Kumite (point sparring)

The day is kept light and fun, with an emphasis on positive character development and teambuilding.

Limited space. Please register in the office by May 31 for the early registration discount. Last day to register is June 14th.

Tao Summer Camps 2019

We are excited to offer 2, week long, half-day camps with Instructor Kate for your aspiring martial artists this summer!!

Challenge yourself as an athlete, develop your skills as a martial artist, and practice life skills that are essential to self-mastery, assertive communication, and leadership!

7-9 yrs: July 15 – July 19
10-12 yrs: July 22 – July 26
9am – 1pm
- No before or after care provided
- Bring a lunch!

Before June 1
Members: $175 for the week
Non-Members: $225 for the week*

After June 1
Members: $200 for the week
Non-Members: $250 for the week*

*non-members receive a $50 credit toward regular class fees if registered by Oct 31, 2019

Cancellation Policy:

Before 2 weeks of start date: Refundable less $20 admin fee
Within 2 weeks of start date: Non-refundable, unless we can fill their spot, in which case we will refund less $20 admin fee

What to Expect

General Content

Every day will consist of the following:

  • fun teambuilding games

  • functional movement to develop body awareness, strength, and flexibility

  • foundational martial arts skills (kicks/strikes/rolls/breakfalls)

  • partnered martial arts skills (weapons work, partner drills, etc.)

  • individual life skills development

  • partnered activities for life skills development

  • small group games and activities with follow up conversation for life skills development

Once over the course of the week we will pull out the air trick mat and the acrobatics equipment so that students can experience a few hours of acrobatics and fun!
